Controller/Finance Manager

ABOUT THE JOB

Blyncsy is a local tech start-up which is experiencing the type of growth to now require part-time to full-time in-house controller services. We are open to considering a ¾ to full-time role for the right candidate.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Blyncsy is seeking a controller to oversee all company financial services. You are experienced and comfortable enough to take the lead on all company-related finance. An administrative team will be available for support, but this role will solely lead all aspects of Blyncsy’s finance.

You will:

  • Manage bookkeeping and financial planning for the company

  • Maintain close working relationships with the CEO, operations, sales

  • Work with CEO and other departments on developing appropriate financial policies and best practices

  • Plan, update, track, interpret, and report on the budget

  • Ensure financial compliance with government contracts, grants requirements, GAAP, etc.

  • Track and report fundraising dollars and investment dollars

  • Prepare in-house audits

  • Close-out each month and prepare monthly financials, including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Statement of Cash Flows

  • Oversee month-end and reconcile bank accounts

  • Oversight of QuickBooks database

  • Work closely with employees on their department budgets and budget tracking

  • When necessary, report and explain financials to board, investors and clients

  • Lead multiple audits held throughout each year

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Possess at least a 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management or related field of study

  • Have a minimum of five years experience in accounting management, managing administrative and accounting functions

  • Experience with equity financing

  • Must have excellent accounting, work processing, organization, communication and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work with others as a supportive team member

  • Be able to work well under deadlines and deliver products on time

Data Scientist

ABOUT THE JOB

The position will be focused on understanding, maximizing and leveraging the incredible amounts of movement data capture by the Blyncsy sensors. You should be eager to work behind the scenes in developing the data-driven insights that will help Blyncsy customers improve transportation.

This position reports to the CTO.

  • Work with the CTO and the rest of the dev team to understand the data

  • Determine new and innovative uses for the data

  • Make sense of much and complex data

  • Provide integral feedback into the product (and company) road map

  • Expand current skills as well as learn new things

Desired skills:

  • 5+ years experience in data science or related field

  • Ability to make complex data presentable to laypersons

  • Excellent ability in building algorithms and models from data

  • Experience in machine learning

  • Scala/Spark proficiency

  • Experience with big data/ data warehousing and databases such as Cassandra

  • Experience creating interactive, performant, data driven applications

Marketing & Design Manager

ABOUT THE JOB

The position will be focused on making sure the world knows about Blyncsy! You will be the liaison between Blyncsy and the marketplace. You will work with the sales, product and customer success teams to ensure messaging is reaching the market through as many mediums as possible.

This position reports to the CEO. You will:

  • Work with the CEO and the rest of the business team to make sure our message hits the market

  • Interface with product team to ensure products are communicated to clients and potential clients

  • Develop and oversee email campaigns and press releases, marketing collateral, conferences and our brand

  • Design and write copy for collateral creation for conferences, trade-shows and important client and investor pitches

  • Grow audience for Blyncsy products including web, mobile, social, direct email and traditional print media

  • Serve as the main point of contact for press inquiries

  • Oversee marketing communications internally and externally

  • Manage sponsorship opportunities

  • Create and implement brand and style guides

  • Assess return on investment for marketing campaigns

Desired skills:

  • Design experience (inDesign, Adobe suite)

  • Copywriting and sales collateral experience

ABOUT THE JOB

The position will be focused on assisting the Blyncsy administration team ensure the office is running smoothly. You’re a details person and love getting in the weeds. You will work with the rest of the business team on all functional areas of a start-up technology firm.

This position reports to the CEO:

  • Be the face of the company and greet incoming visitors

  • Work with the CEO and the rest of the business team to make sure employee and business needs are met

  • Assisting the HR, admin, customer success and operations teams with administrative tasks such as office errands, expenses, paperwork, research, presentation building, scheduling, help keep supply room stocked, help with office snacks, help plan travel, and other clerical tasks

  • Meeting milestone requirements in the customer journey

  • Desired skills

ABOUT THE JOB

The position will be focused on expanding the capabilities of our existing product line, Pulse, as well as collaborating with the entire development team as we expand our offering into exciting new areas. You should be eager to work behind the scenes in creating software that helps the world work and have a desire to optimize every interaction with that software and take the lead on driving development.

VP of Engineering

ABOUT THE JOB

This position entails working with our existing embedded systems engineer to design and build a new system, focused on directly improving safety and efficiency in vehicular traffic, as well as maintaining and expanding the capabilities of our existing sensor product. You should be comfortable working in a team as well as solving problems independently.

This position reports to the CTO:

  • Work with the engineering team to create a software system which we believe will improve the lives of every driver on the road

  • You will lead a small team of direct reports

  • Collaborate on, and meaningfully impact, system and solution architecture

  • Grasp system complexity and design creative solutions to bridge the legacy with the cutting-edge

Desired skills

  • BS/MS in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, or similar with 5+ years’ experience in embedded systems

  • Knowledge and programming experience in C++ and C

  • Experience with Linux, particularly for embedded systems, or other real-time operating systems, previous experience on the back end scaling servers desired

  • Working knowledge of networking

Other things we’d love to see:

  • Experience with middleware, such as DDS or RTPS

  • Experience with traffic management systems, radar, or signal controllers

  • Programming flexibility - experience with languages such as Rust, Scala, and Ruby.
